[EN] This work presents some of the Covid-19 pandemic interferences in the poetry slam performance competitions, with the aim to reflecting on the consequences for the elaboration and execution of this cultural and artistic event in the virtual format. Although it is an activity which has the physical presence as fundamental to the narrowing of the ties between the public and the poets, the poetry has persisted and the slam battles were adapted to the “new normal” to keep occur. To point out the main changes in the transition from one format to another, three poetry slam contests, performed since the beginning of the pandemic, were analyzed. The theoretical contributions by Paul Zumthor (1997, 2014), Zygmunt Bauman (2005), Ruth Finnegan (2005, 2016), Martina Pfeiler (2003), Giorgio Agamben (2020), Boaventura de Sousa Santos (2020), among others, have supported such discussions.
