[ES] Manuel Matxain Ezpeleta (1916-1999) fue un bertsolari humilde de Aiete (San Sebastián). Fue también un hombre de cualidades físicas portentosas, muy unido al deporte rural. Bertsolari tardío y de pluma, sus versos nos muestran a un hombre que oscila entre lo tradicional y lo moderno, y que despliega unas líneas de pensamiento de una importante estatura moral.

[EN] Manuel Matxain Ezpeleta (1916-1999) was a humble bertsolari (a singer of bertso which is a musical verse in Basque tradition) who was born in Aiete (San Sebastian). Being a man who possessed tremendous physical ability, he was also attached to rural sports. He was a late bertsolari whose verses show us a man who oscillates between tradition and modernity. Apart from that, his way of thinking presents a man with high moral standards.
