- Yimakan is the very essence of the distilled wisdom of Hezhe people and it is a living epic poetry.But with the social and economic development and the changes of their fishing and hunting style,Yimakan needs urgent protection.It has now been listed as the intangible cultural heritage by the UNESCO.Yimakan is taught orally and learned by heart.Based on this feature,we should effectively use the current legal system,such as PRC's laws about intangible cultural heritage,especially the part about copyright,to protect Yimakan,to develop and preserve the ethnic epic of Hei longjiang Province.
